Meet Monique

Hi, I'm Monique Perry - the director and creative talent behind Avenue 61, a graphic design studio based on Auckland's North Shore.

As a creative, I believe that great design is critical to a strong brand presence. However, a background in marketing means that I don't just make things look pretty; I ensure that all visual communications align with your marketing plan, are consistent with your branding and send the right message to the right audience.

As a business owner myself, I have the ability to put myself in your shoes. I listen to your needs, consider your budget and expectations, and pride myself on my reliability and efficiency.

With more than 14 years experience in marketing and graphic design, I have delivered a wide range of marketing initiatives and design for both print and web including:

  • Brochures, flyers and postcards

  • Newsletters and communications for print and web

  • Pull up banners, posters and signage

  • Magazines

  • User guides, instruction manuals, datasheets and other business materials

  • Business stationery

  • Presentation folders and inserts

  • Forms, including editable PDF's

  • Packaging, stickers and tear off pads

  • Logos and Corporate Branding

  • Personal stationery including weddings and invitations

  • Christmas and gift cards for print and web

Your marketing material should be a powerful tool for growing your business. Whatever your requirements, from business cards and letterhead to newsletters, brochures and displays, I would love to help to strengthen your brand identity - so get in touch, and let’s chat!

Ever since I was a little girl I have always been creative. I was one of those kids who made my own Christmas and birthday cards, drew pretty pictures in my school books and coloured them in, making sure to never go over the lines. Back then I never knew there could be a career in design, so instead I went to The University of Auckland and studied a Bachelor of Commerce with double majors in Marketing and e-Commerce.

Once qualified I began my marketing career and became involved in every aspect including point of sale, trade shows and events, TV, radio, print and web advertising, marketing research, the list goes on. But my favourite part of the job was always design. I studied part time at Raffles College of Design to develop my skillset and had ongoing training with printers.

In 2012 a bit of luck came my way and I found myself in a position to set up Avenue 61, my very own freelance design studio. My business has continued to grow from strength to strength, I love what I do, and my solid marketing background doesn’t only make my job easier, it provides added value to my clients.

In March 2016 I married the man of my dreams and became a step mum to three gorgeous kids, well, teenagers now. My husband plays a big part in my business as he is conveniently skilled in design, web and video / animation. On the weekends you’ll normally find us outdoors; camping, surfing or just hanging out on the beach. We’ve got a great work / life balance and I really am very lucky to be living the life I want.
