Founded in 2012 by Monique Perry, Avenue 61 gives businesses of all sizes access to the creative skills of an experienced graphic designer - without unnecessary hierarchy or high agency fees. We have now grown to a network of creative collaborators with a range of specialist skills who can help pull projects together.

We love to be creative and explore new, engaging ideas, but our difference is in our ability to connect that design to strategic outcomes for your business. Because making things look good is one part of our job, but helping you tell a story, improve profitability, communicate with impact or leave a lasting impression is another.

Meet Monique.

Avenue 61 Director and Creative

Ever since I was a little girl I have always been creative. I was one of those kids who made my own Christmas and birthday cards, drew pretty pictures in my school books and coloured them in - making sure to never go over the lines.

I completed a Bachelor of Commerce at The University of Auckland, majoring in Marketing and e-Commerce and after a 16-year career working across every aspect of marketing - from trade shows and events to advertising and research - I was drawn to return to those innate creative foundations. I embraced my love of design, undertook further study to develop my skills, and in 2012 my vision for my own creative studio was realised.

Since then Avenue 61 has continued to grow, I love what I do, and my solid marketing background doesn’t only make my job easier, it provides added value to my clients. Avenue 61 is my opportunity to not only nurture my creative side while supporting other businesses to grow through good design, but also an opportunity to create a life I love. Whether it’s camping, surfing or just hanging out at our local beach, I love the balance I have to live the life I want.
